Welcome one and all. This site is intended to explore what it means to be a follower of Yeshua Ben Yosuf, aka Jesus, and hopefully it will be a place where reasonable and respectful conversations can take place regarding the current state of Christendom and where it might be headed. Gnu Christians believe that the Gnu Athiests have correctly pointed out the significant shortcomings of all religions, of churches, and of individuals who claim to be Christians. Gnu Xians also believe that many Christian fundamentalists are focused on 2000 years of church dogma and doctrine rather than on the life and teachings of Yeshua. When it comes to following Jesus in the post-Christendom era, Gnu Christians aspire to project the spirit of the words of the late Stephen Huneck posted outside the Dog Chapel in Vermont - "All Breeds and All Creeds are Welcome - No Dogma Allowed."

WHAT'S GNU?

Well, as many of you know, a gnu is a wildebeest. 



Perhaps a few know that GNU is also a free Unix-style operating system.

For the physcists:  What's nu?   c over lambda.

And, some of you may know that the "New Atheists" have adopted a stylized gnu, superimposed on the atheist A.



The new/gnu atheist scarlet letter A is the brainchild of Professor Richard Dawkins.

And thus, a new/gnu Christian is a logical followup to the new/gnu Atheists - there really is not much new with either group except the following - the Gnu Atheists are committed to being aggressive not in their atheism but rather in their anti-religion campaign.  I have a lot of sympathy for their commentary decrying the negative impact of many activities done in the name of religion, but do not accept their claim that only rational thought can reveal truth.  Therefore, Gnu Christians should be aggressive in calling others to pay attention to Yeshua.
